(Nashville, TN) It’s been several years since Linganore grad Erin James made the trek to Nashville to pursue her dreams of becoming a recording artist in Nashville. After paying her dues on Nashville’s Broadway and peforming across the country with a girl trio that featured an American Idol finalist, Erin James is now a sought after solo artist with success knocking at her door. Erin James (www.erinjamesmusic.com) just finished recording her new album produced by Grammy Award and ACM award winner Brent Mason. (www.brentmason.com) Erin James wrote and performed all of the songs on this upcoming album – a feat that is highly unusual in the industry. Her songs are said to be edgy and powerful – sassy and real. A singer, songwriter and musician, Erin James has been labeled “the real deal.” “Every now and then an artist comes along with that special something that makes you realize why you got in this business in the first place. Erin has that magic,” states Micheal Clair, President of NNMG.
Erin was raised in Maryland and attended schools in Carroll and Frederick Counties. Her personal story has all of the makings of a country song. She went from detention diva to a college graduate completing the R.N. program at Frederick Community College. Over the last several years, she has worked as an emergency room nurse at Baptist Hospital in Downtown Nashville while pursuing her musical career. Erin states, “Nursing gave me the ability to earn a living with flexible hours so that I could ultimately do what I love – music! I could schedule my shifts at the hospital around my appearances and tours.” Now, Ms. James is finding little time for nursing as her music career shifts into high gear.
In 2009, Erin James was hired by Tony Holden of Holden Productions to be part of a new girl trio he was putting together called Chasing Dixie (later Della Rose Band). As part of that group, Erin James toured the country opening shows for country music artists Rascall Flatts, Darius Rucker, Keith Anderson, Brooks and Dunn and Jason Aldean. She’s even appeared on GAC’s Headline Country with Storme Warren. A songwriter at heart, James wanted to do more of her own material, so she left the group last summer to pursue her solo career. As a solo artist, Erin James is a regular on Nashville’s Broadway where iconic bars and nightclubs dot the downtown Nashville cityscape. According to a press release, she already has Nashville buzzing about her new album.
A prolific songwriter, gifted musician and engaging vocalist, Erin James comes “home” to Frederick Maryland on Saturday, May 28th over Memorial Day weekend for show at Champion’s of Frederick on Rt. 85 in Buckeystown. She has another free concert slated for Memorial Day to benefit St. John’s School In Westminster. After these Maryland gigs, she heads back to Nashville and then to the mid-west this summer. Later this year, she is slated to tour England, Ireland and Scotland as well as an appearance on the “Ireland Opry.”
Erin James’ new album featuring eleven songs written and performed by her is slated for release this summer.
